I'm new to the world of collecting custom Japanese style knives. I currently have a wide variety of production Japanese influenced knives, but no customs. I searched before I made my first purchase. I wanted something that was pleasing to the eye, well made, durable, and at a good price.
Knifemaker Mike Snody seems to offer many wonderful knives that fit my desires. I received my first Mike Snody knife today---- the Karma Kubikiri. This is a great little Japanese style knife. It has a 4" matte and satin finished blade out of A-2. The chisel grind is on the proper side of the blade. The handle is white ray skin with a black cord wrap, and comes with a custom fitted kydex sheath.
Overall the knife is impressive. If you're looking for knives in the Japanese style, then don't overlook Mike Snody. I don't have picture capabilities, but you need to check out his knife called the Narita Kwaiken. His Bushido blade is also worth consideration.
My savings account will never increase as long as good custom knives are available!
