I've owned the pistol grip for some time now, and now I own the the Zambezi as well. Both are EXCELLENT tough knives with thick liners, and GREAT, no AWESOME ergonomics, on both of them (unless you're hands are really big, then YMMV). AND BUSHINGS FOR SUPER SMOOTH OPENINGS! REALLY (IT'S NOT JUST A MARKETING PLOY) It makes me wonder why anyone would want to buy any other over priced linerlock. There are a couple of downsides. The large SS bolsters make them a little heavy, but a lot of folks like bolsters, also, the liner lock can be a little tough to disengage due to the small catch area, but this can also be a good thing. Seriously, if you're considering buying an Emerson or other expensive tactical tough liner lock or even a Colombia River, or Kershaw, take a look at these first, you'll be impressed. I am!
.
ADDED: I really think it's worth checking these out. There's a whole lot to like about them, especially for just over $50!

Sounds good. I was thinking of picking up one of those for awhile now and now that i know they're nice i have a reason. I have a few questions. How is the fit and finish? How far over does the lock engage? Have you had a chance to check out the worden folder?

I don't have one of their folders yet but I do have a Zambezi fixed blade. I think it is a very well made and designed fixed blade. I think Timberline knives are overlooked too often.

Fit and finish is excellent for the price range, it compares with $100+ folders. Also, they both came locking up over on the left. Note: These aren't really small folders, get your ruler out and take a look at how big they are if you're buying online, they're a little bigger than the pictures make them look, IMO.

Out of the two which do you like better? Also which do you think would make a better edc?

And is there any chance you could post some pics of the knives?

I recently bought an Timberline Workhorse. I got the larger one with no serrations.

Lock up is great and it sure feels like a more expensive knife. 40 dollars

It think it's really up to personal opinion, but the Zambezi folder has a thinner profile when folded (both same thickness facing the blade). Also, since it's not angled you have more cutting versitility, so I guess I'd have to say that one.

Good to hear.

I've had a Timberline Large Worden Tactical for a couple of years.
Great fit and finish, and wicked sharp out of the box.

Paid all of about 40 bucks for it brand new from a dealer!

A little too heavy for EDC, but it makes a great nightstand knife. ;)

These timberline knives have peaked my interest. :) How would you say the ergos are on the worden? Also how big is it compared to something like a buck 110?

Also WalkingMan, which one has more heft to it?

Thanks for answering all my questions. :)

The ergos on the Worden are phenomenal.
And it's BIG! 4 inch blade, saber grind.
Dual liners in the handle; it's a heavy knife.

Exceptional product.

Well i think i made up my mind and i'm gonna go with the pistol grip. :D
Post your thoughts after you get it! I'd like to see what others think. I think far too few of us forumites own these gems, and I'd like to know that I'm not as crazy as my wife thinks I am. Thanks!
