I went into a local pawn shop just to see what kind of used knives they had. There were a couple of kershaw models displayed in their box. Not knowing what models they were I asked to look at each of them.
The first one was a stainless chive. He wanted thirty-one bucks for this which wasn't a great deal since I just bought one at wally-world for $32 for my wife.
The second one however, turned out to be a Kershaw Mini-Task with ATS-34 and G-10 grip panels .It was priced at $50 and I didn't know what to look for on retail. So I ran home and did some checking here to learn more about this model. I went back and asked what was his best price. He thought a moment and said $40: deal.
That was a couple of weeks ago. since then I have carried this thing everywhere and cut just about everything worth cutting. I absolutely love this blade shape. I work in the wine business and I deal a lot with cardboard. This knife will glide through cardboard with the greatest of ease. The shape allows for effortless reaching cuts.
I read some complaints about difficulty in opening these with the off-hand(mine is a righty, as am I). Left handed operation was tough at first for me. After a lot of flicking it has become second nature with either hand. Bottom line is I really really like this knife.
