hello all. i have always been into edged tools (knives mostly), but recently ive found myself gloriusly basking in the joy of axe restoration. i have aquired some ok-ish stuff from thrift stores and pawn shops....im still pretty new to this restoration craft. any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

in my rapidly growing collection i have:

a collins 3lb. hudsons bay style head i rehafted onto a 24" haft i cut and whittled and painted from some kind of pick haft that i had.

a montgomery wards hewing axe on a random handle.

a marshall wells box hatchet also on a random handle.

a vaughan supersteel carpenters hatchet (no handle)

a collins double bit homestaed axe (needs some work and a haft)

and last but not least at all , my sager double bit chemical axe 1944 that i am currently working on.

any recomendations on restoring this sager would be nice. its in pretty good condition but definately needs some attention.

yeah im gonna try to take some pics tomorrow. ive been watching alot of videos and reading, i honestly dont know how i went so long with only one axe(a pos at that). thanks foxx , i look forward to sharing my sager 1944 restoration with everyone.

so im having some problems getting pics off my phone and onto my computer.....but i am still taking pics of the sager chem. 1944 resto. FINALLY i got the rest of the haft out of the eye, quite the task i must say.whoever hung it only got it about 3/4 into the eye so getting the key out was impossible.i cut off the broke end flat cut some cross ways lines in it and split it with a wedge punch, eventually pulling it out 1 sliver at a time...took me almost an hour. BUT ITS OUT NOW!!!!!!!time to soak:D
