The Spyderco Manix 2 and its unique ball bearing lock? Whatever coil spring tension the knife came with.....currently prevents "easy opening blades." OEM Spyderco springs harbors way too much " stiff strength". I'm no spring and sprung expert. So how would you blade community knife enthusiasts reply? i.e., tune my M2 achieving quick employ activation?!
I respect all answers be it wise or smart aleck. There are no "dumb questions." Only need to learn. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
I feel, blade forum members, it is a Man's desire to "adapt, overcome, improvise and perfect."
I respect the Blade Forum as an incredible KNOWLEDGE BASED website geared towards KNIVES...of the personal kind.

I would have to say it'll smooth out with use. Try opening and closing it a bunch, or maybe opening it halfway where the spring is being compressed?

I do know that you shoudn't try to modify the spring, length, coils, etc. Someone recently asked a question concerning manix 2 spring tension and someone from spyderco chimed in saying that the spring tension on the manix is just so as to provide secure reliable lock up and not be "too stiff". Basically if you remove some coils the knife may not lock anymore. Hope this helps

loosening the pivot about 1/12 of a turn made alot of difference to my regular M2

Just a reminder,...if you disassemble it, you void the warranty.

my blade will open and shut with gravity alone now if i hold down the button. Its smooth as
I can also flick it open with the hole very easily from closed, the amount of pressure it takes to overcome the detent is pretty much enough to open it fully now. no wrist action required
