Removing (& polishing) the sharp-edges from my Leatherman Surge made a HUGE difference in how it feels in my hand. About an hour total with the diamond file that comes with the Surge, along with a couple grits of (wet/dry) sandpaper, made all the difference in the world. Now it doesn't feel like a hard "grip" on the (closed) Surge will slice my hand.

Thanks Dann, sounds good, can't wait to get it.;) :)
You WILL like this one!...I had to package it up quickly & securely before I changed my mind about trading it away.:D.

I'm going to smooth & polish the sharp edges on the Wave when I receive it..

Good idea! I'll try it with my Wave. It's not like I'm ever gonna sell it...

Wow - coincidence. I just got one in a trade, and my first thought as soon as it was out of the box was, "emery cloth to all the edges." I had wondered how effective an edge treatment would be.

Up to now, my go-to tool was either a small or large Gerber, and the handles on those two Gerbers fell great. I plan to have the Surge handles feel the same when I'm done.

I smoothed & polished all the sharp-edges of my new Wave yesterday, and that makes a big difference when I grip the tool hard when using one of the 4 tools (that open with the tool closed), as I no-longer feel like the sharp edges of the tool will cut into my hand. I even went as far as smoothing & polishing the edges of the spine of the 2 knife blades. I think that doing this smoothing & polishing will even make the (nylon) sheath last longer, as there are no sharp-edges to cut into it while sheathing & un-sheathing the tool.
