After a long relationship with my paradigm pro one thing always bothered me. I couldn't stand the spring assist mechanism. So today I decided to remove both springs. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. The knife is not a great flipper anymore but what I was left with was surprising. With some adjustment to the pivot screw the blade opens with a wrist flick and closes with a wrist flick. There's no blade play in any direction and the knife locks up solid. The blade moves like it's on ball bearings. The operation of the knife reminds me of my Manix 2 in that i unlock the bolster and just wrist flick the blade open and then lock the bolster.

One moe thing i forgot to add. This knife was always a pain to perform maintenance on. Having to line up the two coils spring was alway near impossible and time consuming during assembly. Headache gone.

Doing it behind the camera was a little difficult but you can get the idea.

A little better display of operation.
