this is DaQo'tah

I'm busy with the work on my very first real knife,,,it's going to be my view of an Ed Fowler "Pronghorn". (Well sorta like his Pronhorn anyway I hope)

anyway, in my shop I have 2 little young cats,,,they keep me company as I work on my knife in this North Dakota cold.

but young cats in a shop can get into trouble... I was working on my belt grinder, with the 220 grit belt when I saw the my cat jump onto the table that I have the belt grinder bolted down to.

Now on my belt grinder there is also a buffer connected and I have a 8 inch x 2 inch wide buffing pad attached.

I didn't notice what the cat was doing behind my belt grinder, but my guess is that the cat wanted to get a better view of what I was working on, so it tried to jump on top of the buffing pad.

The cat didn't know that the buffing pad was going around at 3,600 RPMs

Cat flew past my head and hit the side wall of my shop...it was a very interesting thing to see,,,,not sure I have the words to describe the look my cat gave me after that trip...

oh, my dog thought the whole thing was very funny

too funny! my doggie gaurds the alley as i work. its great to have a pal or two near the shop.

LMAO!!:D Who sez cats can't fly!
That's hilarious! I'da paid money to see the look on that cat's face.

DaQo'tah you've given me my second big smile for the day, and it's only 3:30 in the morning! Way to go, I hope the kitty is alright - but we know how cats are, I'm sure she's fine and - carrying a grudge. Better watch out! :D

Thats why I have a dog, I can tell her to lay on the blanket and she will. I don't have to worry about her messing with the equipment. Best part is she has a deep seated hate for cats and keeps them out of my yard :)

Cats and knifemakers don't mix. My cat got a little too close to the forge once. got a good laugh out of that one (after putting out the fire of course)

LMAO!! I would have paid money to see that! One thing about cats, once they get smacked, you don't have to worry about them getting injured from the same thing.

I have two cats, but I'd never bring one in my shop. Too freaking dangerous for a best who has a habit of jumping on anything that moves, makes noise, glitters, jingles and whatever... :D
I have already to do to keep the smaller one out of my ikjet printer :D

hmmm neigbors cats keep comeing in the garage and p####ng on the floor.

Thanks, all I gotta do is set the buffer on the floor and....

WHOOO HOOO that'll be one cat that will think twice about attacking a running buffer.:D

Thanks again for the tip:D :D
