Well, I saw A light, kinda scared me a little bit !

I was just sittin' here, mindin' my own bidness and out of
the corner of my left eye I saw a burst of light, a bluish glow
in the corner of the room, about 10 feet away from me.

I have a small ipod stereo system, subwoofer in that corner
and thought maybe it was dying out??? I looked around and
nothing else seemed wrong or out of place.

I put my iPod in the dock and played some music and I sat back down
to work, 20 minutes or so goes by and I see another burst of light,
kinda like in the movies when you see an atomic bomb go off in the distance
a Pooofff kinda feel to it...

I felt my chest, seemed ok, left arm wasn't turning numb,
but what the heck was happening to me to see this??

Then I realized I had taken my flashlight out of my shirt pocket,
one I carry with me always, I looked around for it but couldn't find
it anywhere in the house!

The next burst happened and this time I caught a glimpse of where it
started from, right along side my other computer sitting next to me,
there was my small flashlight, a Streamlight which takes 1 AAA battery.
Must be the battery was starting to die out and that must be some
kind of warning signal that it was time to replace the battery...

WOW, it was a bit erie to me, but the family had a VERY good laugh when
I relayed the story to them just now, all at my expense of course :)
But that's ok, I like to hear them laugh heartily, even if it's at me!

Oh, the light is a StreamLight MicroStream picked it up on Amazon,
HIGHLY recommend the light, even if it can scare you now and then ;)

My microwave beeps at me when it's done cooking, why shouldn't a flashlight do the same? :D

Watch out for these appliances acting like they own the place!

seeking the silence
I walk in the quiet woods
along the highway

window fan whirring
my refrigerator groans
I lie sleeplessly

the machines whisper
songs of noisy diligence
disturbing the peace

Gary - for a minute there it sounded like the start of a King novel.

Cool that the light was designed to let you know, as most of my lights die in the dark when I am using them. Murphys Law - you know.

Nice Esav :) and yes Joe, I guess it's good the light does that, didn't know it did, obviously ;)
The battery lasts a very long time, but replacing it, I can see how MUCH brighter
it is with new juice, a very very nice light, one I'd not want to be without.

seen here at Amazon

I was just reminded tonight that my mobile phone does that, too. I was talking with my daughter when the phone lit up. I looked at it and noticed the power bars were down to 2.

Shortly into the new year, I replaced the carbon monoxide detectors in my house (these should be replaced every seven years) including the one in my bedroom. That first evening, I turned out the lights, got into bed, and was about to fall asleep when the room was illuminated by a blinding flash of light. It was the periodic "I'm Ok" flash of the new CO detector. Wow! I had to put tape over the light.

That's pretty funny Chuck! I can just see that happening!

and Esav, I am always leaving my phone on, it's a company cell phone,
if they didn't provide, I'd not have one and it loves to go BEEP as the battery
is slowly dying, gotta search the kitchen for the beep...;)

Same with mine with the beeping. And it ALWAYS seems to die (and beep) late at night when I'm trying to sleep. Always.

It does the light thing too. First time it happened I was half asleep in bed when I see this odd bright green light shine halfway my face.

I swear, for just a second I thought the aliens were finally coming to take me home. :D
