Ive been sitting around the past few days wacthing some western movies. I have seen some knives that were about 8 inches and their handles were made of antlers. Now what I am trying to get at is I would like to find a good knife for hunting that looks like a cool knife from the movies and also can perform well through many years. The one knife I like the most is from legends of the fall. George Sweeny makes it but it is way to much money for me. I would not perfer to go over $130.00 if possible....

and also how about the stag handled knife from cabelas.
That looks like not a good choice (more display knife)

There are so many decent hunting knives with stag handles out there, you could go crazy trying to pick one out. Start checking online knife stores and find something thast suits your fancy and budget. I would stick with known name-brands like Buck, Camillus, Case, Boker etc... and insist on it being made in the USA, you have a better chance of it being good steel and properly heat-treated.

This is not a "Legends of the Fall" crown stag knife, it is however a stag handled knife that I think is an excellent value. I've bought a couple of these, and reccomended them before.

Take a look.

Oh, and you can have both knives for less than $130.

If you must have a Crown Stag Bowie, this one is in your price range.

Cool links Phil, thanks. That 888knioversrus.com has a whole page of nice bowies to choose from.

LT, one thing I would be wary of is when the ad says the blade is "stainless" or "400 series" steel. This doesn't tell you much. If it was high-quality steel they'd say so specifically, as in "this is 440C or 154CM". Just a buyer-beware thing; sometimes a knife is low-priced because the steel is poor quality.
