...He made me a freakin awesome leather sheath in return! This Busse community really astounds me. Some of you might say I'm too trusting or crazy. After a BF member and Busse collector posted a thread about interest in a new sheath maker around here, I offered to send him a few of my knives for templates. In turn, he offered to make me a sheath to return the favor. We emailed for a bit, and then he gave me his number. We spoke at length a few times and BS'd about shared interests. He suggested I send him one knife, so that he can make a sheath and upon approval of the sheath, I would or could send him more knives.

After talking to him though, I was convinced he was a straight up, very knowledgeable guy. I sent him my Skinny Ash, an HG55, a RMD and a swamp Warden. We agreed that a sheath for my Skinny would be a good starting point. Well... a few weeks later I have all 4 blades back and a beautiful, very durable and well made leather sheath.

That BF member's name is neugene. I humbly vouch for this guy as an honest, very talented sheath maker and at the very least a great new asset to the Busse community.

As we all know... this thread is worthless without the pics! The photos taken with my phone, really don't do the sheath justice.

Congratulations on your new sheath looks very nice and with a fire steel loop too.

Thanks for the kind words Adam. Under that light it looks like the dye has leached out in places. I will either pick up a bottle of dye and send it to you or I can paypal you the cost of a bottle of dye if you have some where you can pick it up, whichever is more convenient for you. I apologize for this, I didn't catch it under the lamp in my shop.

Chris

Looking good.

I was tempted to try a double stitch line on my B11 sheath, but just decided I did not have the energy to do the hardest part twice. That poking the holes is my arch nemesis in sheath making. So hard to do by hand, and keep the holes straight (front to back, I tend to miss the line on the back side.

Nice.

Got to give another +1  for the double stitching on that sheath. It really adds something to it. Nice work!

Very nice, and very generous. You should both be commended.

I have dealt with several newcomers to the forums and they have all worked out. It makes you feel good when you help a newcomer out on their first transaction here.
