Sent this email to KA-BAR:
"Dear KA-BAR,
I own a Becker BK2 which I purchased in August of last year. When I first
received the knife I noticed that the grinding of the edge was uneven and,
because of this, the tip of the blade was slightly leaned over to one side
(attached is a photo of the tip). I didn't think much of it and kind of
just forgot about it. Recently it has been bothering me though. When I
went to resharpen the knife (I have been using it and it has dulled over
time), the edge would not sharpen correctly because of the uneven grind.
The edge needs a complete re-profiling. The fact that I am unable to
sharpen the knife correctly and the fact that my tip is bent is really
annoying. It seems as though the person who sharpened it was asleep on the
job. This is not the quality that I expect from such a great company as
KA-BAR, especially coming out of the US. I love the knife, but the whole
purpose of a knife is to cut things right? And if my knife doesn't have a
good edge on it, there is really no point of owning it. Would you please
help me with this? Maybe you could sharpen it (correctly this time) for me
or something? Anything you could do to help would be very appreciated.
Thank you,
Joel"
They said they'll replace it with a "hand inspected replacment". I guess I'll be sending in my BK2
