Benchmade should receive my 710 in 2 days. Hopefully they can replace it with another one. The action was nothing compared to my AFCK axis, the 710 was very rough, tight, and the axis was even tight. I tried loosening the tang pin and adding Militech 1 and still no difference. Well, needless to say I will be in morning till the new one arrives:( . Well thanx for listening y'all I just needed a shoulder:D .

it should be well known by now that benchmades quality control stinks. if they got them all the same and good they would be great. not everyone want's a seb and the benchmades offer a lot more variety. plus the axis lock is said by many(including myself) to be the best. it is a shame that 6 out of 10 bm's need to get sent back. for this reason i never mail order them. i must hand pick them.
but, if you get a good one it's a keeper!

I hope they actually send you a good one instead of trying to fix the one that is not to your satisfaction. Please let us know how it works out. I have a few Benchmades and I thought the quality was quite good. Perhaps I have just been lucky. Then again, I did get a new one that had a chip in the blade .

I have 12 BM's so far with 3 more in the mail. Some of mine are not as smooth as others, but it's not something I consider a problem. I've played with one of the tighter one for a while. A little Militec1, repeated opening. Repeat. After a little while it was getting smoother already (2 hours maybe). If I'd do that over a period of a week, I have every bit of confidence that it would be as smooth as all the others. So to me it's just a matter of "breaking it in" so to speak.

BM's customer service is excellent. I'm sure they will either replace it or make it right for you. Let us know the bottom line.
