This past weekend at Bowie's hammer-in, James Gibson demonstrated forging a knife from a file. Burt Foster talked about clay coating. Fuad Accawi showed us how to use a palm sander for faster finishing, and Bill Wiggins and Larry Harley talked about knife design and "FLOW" of the knife.

Well, I came away all "stoked" and ready to try their methods......... Only problem is........ I didn't take notes, and my memory is fading fast.

Here is a blade that I tried to incorporate what I remembered from all those discussions and demos.

Nicholson File
12" OAL with a 6" sharpened edge.

Well shoot, I like it! I like file knives that still show some of the file teeth, very cool.

I like that blade a lot the handle (the wrap) looks just a bit off to me but that is being a little picky. Really nice job .

georgeous blade i bet the hamon looks much better up close, and i like the file teeth showing up on the ricasso!,good job,i do think that a nice pair of wood scales would set that wonderful blade off nicer though
