Hey fellas - I went pretty much radio silent in 2010, especially the second half. We had our second son this year. I've now got a 2.5 year old boy and a 5 month old boy. Needless to say we've been quite busy. It's an adjustment for sure. My wife works nights part-time and I work days full-time so sleep has been a little limited. It's not as easy for me to get out and hike with two little ones on my own.. When it was just one kid I could throw him in the back pack and be on my way. Not so much now...

Anyhow - I just wanted to say thanks to all you guys posting up useful tips and techniques. I've been lurking and soaking up things like a sponge and slowly trying things out when I have time. I've stopped buying a bunch of gear I don't need and am learning to use what I have properly and efficiently.

In 2011 I plan to post many threads of me putting to use the things I've learned. I've still got PLENTY to learn. :thumbup:

I'm going ice fishing next weekend so I'll be sure to post up some pics. It's my first time ice fishing. :D

I look forward to the ice fishing pics. It is hard to get me to go ice fishing, I am not into sitting still and freezing my gonads off... I did have fun the few times I did it, but damn it was cold.

Congrats again on your second child and kudos for being a good dad and keeping your priorities straight. It's easy to put your family on the back burner and get sucked in to the wilderness and the forums...

Wait til' they're older and get into scouting with the BSA. All the excuses you need to buy and do whatever you can or want. LOL, I did and I'm a kid again!

I know how you feel. Something ALWAYS seems to come up when you want to go woods-loafing. I too plan to do alot more outdoors excursions this year. I think most of us are making 2011 the year to do IT!
 
I have a two year old little girl and have been through a bad separation but the air is thinning out a little and hope to be out alot this year too. Family first my friend. I also think its my responsibility to show her the outdoors and I will....

Same here. 2 teenage boys and a work schedule doesn't leave too much time for outdoor stuff. I also aim to change that this year. Just need to find a woman who likes tents better than Holiday Inn!
 
Nice man! 2010 was my year to put up, and it's carrying over to 2011... it feels good, so keep us posted with lots of pics!
