I SO want this:

Whew, 379 dollars for micarta and 440C? No thanks, would rather get a custom for that price.

Kyle.

Street prices are better. You can get it with stag. Knife Center has it with amboina for $300.

I imagine that the knife costs the retailer ~ half of list, or less - plus shipping - unless it is on a 'promotion' of some kind. Theoretically, A $380 knife should sell for $210-$300, dependent on trade agreements - and the retailer's profit desires - they have to keep the lights on and that salesman fed. Have you looked at the Savannah? It's $20 more MSRP - neat knife.

As two examples - my Pry-Mate, MSRP $300, was <$180 inc s/h from an evil-bay store. My Haddock, MSRP $280, was $150 + s/t - from a local store! Still a lot... a bit more total, and a Sebenza could have come home with me. I like my Bokers just fine, thank you. I feel blessed to get the great deals I did - and to be able to afford them at this point in my life.

I hope you find employment.

The 120588 is a great knife!

It is forged out of one single piece of 440-C, so this thing is a beast.
It is very versatile to use...

I think the problem with Boker's ability to sell in the USA stems from the exchange rate, and the good pay of German workers.

My biggest problem with Böker is the unfortunate fact that they rip off europeans. I have hard time really believing that I have to pay double if not triple price for knife just because US retailers supposedly buy them in bigger quantities. Yeah right. :thumbdn:
