you can see a couple scratches left on the back :'( i'll have to go over it some more with some fine grit when i get more time.

A very respectable job. Not an easy task, either.

I like the look of the Dial.

grinder.

i used the side of the grinding wheel. holding the caseback, i held it about as parallel to the wheel surface as i could until it got warm, then i dunked it in water to cool it off.

Hi All-

The caseback is typically obscured from view when wearing the watch, so I'm not sure why one would want to thin the metal by grinding it away. What is the purpose of making a commonplace item like a watch sterile?

and blue jays,

i dunno. maybe cause i paid a lot of money for this custom dial with no name brand or text designations on it, so i want the back to look the same. or maybe cause i'm obsessive compulsive about this sort of thing, or maybe it's just cause working on my watch makes it more "mine."

;)
