I Stripped My Bk9

I finally gathered the courage to strip my 9! It definitely was more work than I thought it would be.
I also sharpened it up to a hair-whittling convex edge with my belt sander. Here are some pics for you guys. :)

Hopefully you can see how the edge looks.

I sanded the flats to smooth out a few of the grind marks. Oregon Fal-er's tutorial for leaving the coating on underneath the scales was also used. I think it worked well. :)

That 9 looks fantastic! Nice work. I need to strip mine as well.
 
Nice Job, are you thinking about doing any kind of patina on it or are you gonna let it patina on its own?
 
Great looking blade! I really like the two tone finish and that edge looks like it's ready to go.

It just always looks easier on people's pics. I needed to scrap wuite a lot to get some of the stubborn parts of the coating off, but YMMV.

Looks great! That edge looks pretty nice, too... I'll bet a convexed 9 is a monster :thumbup:
