It took awhile, but the coating on my Ratmandu was slowly starting to wear. I decided to take it all off and make the knife shiny and am very pleased with the results. I took it to 600 grit. Let me know what you guys think.

Lookin' good. Did you take the scales off when you stripped it or did you leave them on?

It was probably a good idea to have left the scales on because now the remaining coating underneath is affording you some corrosion protection. I'm sure you saw it the same way. Great looking knife now. I remember seeing it for sale/trade on the exchange.

Forget the knife - I love that snap-on thing for the BADASS. Wow! I think I'm in love. Did Dwayne make that???

It has been 5 months. How is the natural patina on that RMD looking?

Its doing awesome. Looks now like it did back when these pictures were taken save some scuffs and scratches. I am amazed at the corosion resistance of sr101. In my experiences its on par with d2 for corrosion resistance.

5 months?? You must be using a different calendar than I do. :)

Thanks for catching me slippin Thrill.

Wow. Jan 2011 not Jan 2012! That would make it 1 1/2 years!

Yikes. I wasn't even drinking. Maybe that was the problem!
