Now tell me if I finally caught on...or I still haven't got a clue (anymore than usual).

The top two pictures are of a MINI CQC 7 B blade (front and back) which is Chisel Ground ....completely flat on one side and ground on the other side.

These bottom two pictures are of a MINI CQC 7 A blade (front and back) which is "V" ground...ground on both sides in the form of a "V".

Neither the definition of chisel or V has anything to do with the actual grind on the edge of the blade...it is just a definition of the blade style.

You got it man! I didn't figure it out until I actually received my CQC7A.:) -Rick

Uh,

I may be wrong 'cause it's late and i've had a long day, but actually i think your wrong. You described everything correctly but came to the wrong conclusion. The chisel and v are grind styles, not blade styles. The b model is a tanto blade style while the a model is a spearpoint blade style. They just both happen to have different grind styles at the same time.

Weeeell . . . The "B" style is a chisel ground Tanto. Plan and simple.

The "A" is a tad different kinda animal. The "A's" are "V" ground, but the final edge is "Chisel style" (aka one sided). This includes the Commander (which had the early name of "E3A")

You guys just described what I think I was trying to say, but I didn't say it very well. I knew when I said, 'blade style' I wasn't sure if that was the correct term but I didn't know what to call it. Rogueshooter explained it better. Spearpoint and Tanto are the blade styles. The grind styles are Chisel and "V".

I was originally getting the final edge which are all chisel style confused with the grind styles. Thats what prompted my original post. I had originally thought the final edges were being referred to as chisel and "V".

Thanks for the enlightenment!

Enough of this tech talk...I feel the need to fondle some Emersons.
