I think I FINALLY found a folder I will keep...

The ZT 0550. I've never taken a fancy to folders. I like knives that work hard and a folder always just seemed like a pr-broke fixed blade and most were unnecessary (except for a SAK or course). That was until I found the 0350. I really dug the tank of a knife and how it just felt so damn solid. It was love. At least until I needed to sharpen it. I don't have sharpening rods. I use a bench stone and a belt sander and that's all, and when the edge went dull on the recurve, my tools couldn't keep it up. So off it went. In steo the 0550. A friend said that it too was a tank, and the normal blade profile would be easy to sharpen. So I got one. It came today and now I finally think I've found a folder that I will actually keep........damn.......

NOOOOOO! Now I have to try one! I am so picky about folders its not even funny. The only folders I like are SAKs, my case peanut and my Vantage Pro. Ok that doesnt sound too picky but I carry all of those because they are easy to use in public. I want something "tank" like in a folder for my jeep or out in the woods. I know I can carry a fixed blade for that, and I do. But I just want a folder that can do it as well.

Very cool.... Great pics......I got a 301 and a 350 from my wife for xmas..... Need to work on that birthday 550..... You have to love them.... They are tanks.

Got mine for Xmas for myself. I didn't think I was going to like the stock scale but I was wrong. Now I have to buy 2 more so I can get a snot green and a blue/black from Rick.

I'm running into the same problem Clich. I have a 0350 that I got on here in a trade that I carry some but tend to not use it as much as my other knives. I love the knife and I dont have another folder (only ZT I have) that is as solid. I am new to sharpening and I can get good working edges on my knives but I still havent been able to get down recurve sharpening. It was actually the only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger on a Benchmade 710 this weekend. I'm gonna have to put my other knife wants/purchases on hold til I get me one of these 550s I think.

Saw this at the knife store yesterday, the guy in front of me bought it after I laid it back down on the display case!! I'll order one now. I'm picky about folders too, but this one for the price is perfect.

Nice pics BTW - I lean more and more towards getting a 0550 but I only have room for so many super-folders and I've got several ZT's already (and a 0561 on its way). I may have to get rid of one or two of mine to make room though (with all of the stories I hear from satisfied customers owning a 0550).

Working hard. After 3000 lbs of salt bags, and cutting vines from the underside of a loader and getting banged around under there, it still has a hell of an edge. Damn this is a good knife.
