I'll start by asking y'all to please excuse the sob story portion of this thread. I've been collecting weapons of every kind ever since I could remember. I didn't get into the "Higher End" until recently. Which brings me to the point of the story. I recently got out of the army and have since watched many friends come and go. Mostly go. Partly my fault though. Ever since getting married and having kids. I really don't have any time for friends. I've kinda lost myself in my family. All the while. I've felt that no one truly understood me but my wife. Living here in Southern California. Us weapon enthusiasts are already a minority, and. Us knife enthusiast are an even smaller minority of said minority. I get the usual "you spent how much!" or "my knife cuts the same as yours and, it cost hundreds less!". Of course I defend the reasoning for owning a Busse, Strider, etc... over this or that brand, but, to no avail. But finally! I found the Busse thread here on Bladeforums! So... The title pretty much sums it up. I finally have like minded people to talk to! I just wish more of you were in my neck of the woods. I hope one day to know some of you by name rather than screen name. Sorry so long and drawn out. I'm new to the madness. But, I'm here to stay!

Welcome to the Busse madness!! :)

I'm in you're neck of the woods, not across the street, but still not too far away... :D

Boy, do I know what you mean... My friends think I'm nuts, but they ALWAYS want to see what new toys I picked up! I used to get the "you spent HOW much on that" from my father-in-law, until I gave him a SRKW Rodent-9 for Christmas last year. :D I saw that look, you know the one... The one when you're holding your first real quality knife. The one you know you could run out and chop a stand of trees down with or, if it's a Busse, "Find out what's inside a rock!". ;)

So make yourself at home, and enjoy all the craziness! ;)

There are many Busse knife collectors in your area! In no time at all I bet you will be scheduling a chop-off :) Welcome to the forums!

Welcome to the mayhem. I too have issues finding busse brothers (and sisters) in my neck of the woods but find solace here in the forums among all the fine people that make the Busse family.

Welcome! Mate, I'm in Australia and I can guarantee there's even less of us here. Thank goodness for the internet eh? :)

Daaang... I think I really should have proof read this before posting! I'm all over the place haha! Thank you everyone for the welcoming. You've all definitely solidified my feelings about the Busse family!!!

Lots of great people here. It really is more like a family here. Then if you ever get a chance to get to a show it is like a huge family reunion. Welcome to the madness.

Garth
