I think I finally lost a knife

Except for my very first little pen knife, I'd managed to misplace, but not lose, a knife here and there over the years. Seems like I finally lost one, though--Vic Classic I'd been carrying in the otherwise useless 5th little pocket of my jeans. Noticed it wasn't there a couple of days ago when I reached to take it out. I'm not freaking out because it's one of the few knives I can replace easily, cheaply and locally. I just don't like the idea of losing a knife. :grumpy:

Oh, well. It's an excuse to buy a new one, anyway.

I understand how you feel.
I lost an old Barlow, forget what brand now, that I had since the 70's.
I liked it because it was inexpensive and no worries about using it hard.
Now that I've ressurected my collection and hobbie I'm surprised how much I miss that knife.
Got another one-or two anyway

I lost my Vic Classic that I had since birth (I'm 32) and I'm really bummed still about it. I guess I have to go by your logic and get a new one too! Maybe minichamp?

Once I was in your position. I lost my favorite Vic, had to be the day before and I had done a lot.
So I closed my eyes and pictured where it was in a dark field. Like a radar image, you just try to get it to ping a little and then you start trying to locate it like a mental Marco Polo game. I found mine about 6 miles away. Somehow dropped it out of the back of a truck on a mile and a half of gravel road. I walked it twice before I found it. Partially buried and crushed, it had gotten run over a few times. But I had it back and someday I will make a scale to replace the mashed one. It's only lost if you don't find it.

Although that awesome you found yours I'm afraid if I retraced my steps it would cover from Philly to upstate NY. I'll just get a new keychain SAK

Slap a clip on your next SAK.

Here my daily carry SAK (Tinker) - titanium scales Nanocyl bonded. I aint gonna find that missing, not easily anyways:

-Brass
-Carbon fibre
-Titanium

I lost a protech tr3 with my name and work logo while at work. A graduation present from my wife. Still haunts me.

I've lost a few and misplaced many. Just the way it is with a tool I use so often. I keep Vic SAK spares. Recently left one at a job site after carrying that particular knife for about 10 years. I had two spares for that particular model and brought one into use the following day. Probably will pick up another one when I place an order for a new knife or two down the road a bit. No hurry.

I lost a knife once, but that was due to a work related accident. The blade wound up getting arced when I was cutting a wire that was supposed to be dead. Completely burnt the forward portion right off in the process.
