I think I found my perfect knife (pattern). I got ahold of a case 62087 serpentine jack. It has jigged bone handles and stainless blades. Or blade, in this case. The main clip blade is broken off just above the ricasso. I sharpened the pen blade up nicely and have been carrying it. It is a joy to use. I have been looking around for one in bone/CV but haven't found one yet. I just missed one on Ebay for short money. :(

I'm keeping my eyes open for serpentine jacks that are the same size as this case with jigged bone handles and carbon steel blades. I especially like the case since I find the pocket worn bone nice. Are there other brands that carry a similar sized serpentine jack (one blade would be even better) with carbon blades and jigged bone handles?

Perhaps this

W.R. Case Amber Bone Knives
Small Texas Jack #0077
62032 CV
Clip and Pen Blades
3 5/8" closed; 2.4 oz.

The 32 pattern has square bolsters unlike the 87s, but it's about the same size. The 62087 is on flea bay fairly regular.

Ah yes the quest for the perfect knife. I may have it narrowed down a bit and I too like the 87 pattern, but then theres the peanuts, not to mention the various swiss army knives. Really love this small senator sized cattle pattern though.

would it be possible to send this knife back to case and have the main blade replaced? If so, would they be able to put a CV blade in the knife? would it be worth doing this?
