Spyderco had factory sale today.
I bought 2 meercats plain edge for @ 25 a piece
1 police model full serrated metal handles for 65
1 native 2/3 serrated made in golden for 45
1 ? looks like meercat blade but its a true folder and it has the american flag on it 25
1 spyderco wrench/pliers/screwdriver 75
2 Returned and reground knives @ 5 a piece
assorted ceramic replacement stones 2 @ $ 3
and 2 @ $ 8
assorted pouches @ 2
So What do you think

Is this factory sale a regularly scheduled event? Looks like a good deal to me (and I get to Denver throughout the year on business). geegee

Jack, it seems that you were like a kid in a candy store. Those are some AWESOME deals that you made out with!!!
 
This is the first time I have ever seen them have a factory sale. But I bet they do have one every once in awhile. I saw a ad in the newspaper.
What they are doing is getting rid of overstock, factory errors and returns.
They had two boxes full of returns for 5 bucks a knife. We bought 5 knives, most of them had the plastic clips broke, some had tips broke.

My buddys son grabbed a full serrated knife, didnt check it out first and the blade was damaged pretty good. He works in a warehouse and uses knives to cut boxes open etc. Well I put the knife on my grinder and then used a eze lap . Fixed it up good enough to use.

For me what was a really good buy were the crock stick replacement for 3 bucks. For some unknown reason they chip on me I guess I am too rough.

AS far I I can tell there is nothing wrong with any of the other knives I brought. They all look fine. My biggest problem was not buying a knife for the kid and then one of the same for myself
(Cause I just gotta have it )

As it was I dropped 300 bucks on Saturday.

NOW if Benchmade would only have the same kind of sale.

Excellent deal.I need a subscription to the Denver paper. Is there a Spyderco warehouse or supplier there? I'm wondering if they carry other brands that they plan on selling. I just read in the SOG forumn that you can buy SOG blems cheap from the factory. Pre- scratched knives is what I need.
 
Spyderco itself is based in Golden, and I hear their outlet store is right there, too. I never saw this ad! :mad:
