Picked this up late last week. Identical to my serialized 0801CF with the exception of the carbon fiber scale finish (this one has a glossy finish).

Looks great, interesting scale, it looks like a plastic inlay with CF underneath.... prototypes are always cool to me.

I have always wanted an zt0804cf... have never held the zt0801

Cool and maybe unique proto . I like the overall knife design . But the way they did the CF looks kinda plastic cheap and tacky . I assume if it went into regular production , they would have done better with the CF part ?

It looks like just the prototype had what looks like a polished clear coat on the surface. I think I see matte layers on the sides showing weave. The non prototypes appear to be all matte showside cf. I Really don't know if that's true but it's what I'm assuming. The price on them is a bit crazy for what it is but it's limited in quantity.
