I think I have an attraction for these big blades

This is the last one I am working on. Over 15 1/2" overall, 1/4" thick 5160 steel and a bit heavy at the point. This one will have pinned slab handles, unlike all my other knives.
Let me know what you think.

cant wait to see the handle on it. What size slabs are you using?

If you dont like taking off alot of handle material to make them feel comfy, try using 1/4" slabs.

Knife!? That think looks more like a short sword! Should be great for felling small trees and spliting fire wood. Nice shape, can't wait to see it with the handle.

Big knives are cool and they have taken up alot of folder making time for me in the last year or two. I make less money on a big knife than I do on a small folder but I do like em:p That looks like a nice one you're working on there.

Thanks for your comments.
Brian, I have already cut off the block of imbuia root for its slabs at around 5/16" of thickness. It´s a great wood that smells very nicely - I´ll take some pics of it later.
IG, the closer I ever got to the Amaon jungle is when I am flying to the US, but I´ll find something to shop at home... if I have any left.:D
Will, if you think this is a short sword wait until I start working on the 16" blade version of it I have in mind!

I was about to put the handles slabs yesterday when I decided that it was worthwhile to upgrade this knife´s finish to a hand rubbed finish, so it will take a little longer.
The top handle in the pic is closer to the color it should have when finished.
