I think I just bought a G-10 Rookie.

I got an e-mail that told em that I won a knife on E-bay. I had almost forgot that I even bid. I bid really early and I figuired I would get out bid so I forgot about it. I'm pretty sure I just bought a G-10 Rookie. The title calls it a "Horn" but I don't think that is what it is. When I bid, I didn't know what it was but it looked like a good work knife and for $30, it seemed like a deal.

Is it is a G-10 Rookie? If it is, how did I do as far as price? Is this something that I can use or should it be kept in decent shape? It looks sort of beat up so I was going to make it a work knife. I almost never win anything on E-bay so I probably overpaid if I was the high bidder but I can't imagine $36 shipped as being overpriced. A used Endura 3 will cost that much most of the time.

Looks like a G-10 Rookie to me. You got a good deal. It will be a great user for you. The description already lists a few imperfections, so don't hesitate to put it to more work.

I would have paid that for a good user Rookie.

Yup - saw that one too, but professional courtesy prevented me from jumping in when I saw that you were bidding on it. :)

For that price I think you did well. The Rookie is one heck of a well designed knife (fit my hand real well) and the G10 is gravy.

Congrats

Yep, I saw that one too, even messaged the seller to tell him what it was. It looks like about 1/8" of the tip has been broken off in addition to the nick he mentioned. Still a good knife at a good price. I gave twice that for a NIB PE version at a local pawnshop a while back. I'd say you did good for a user.

Good price for a Rookie. ATS-55 and G-10. Used to have one, but sold it. Still have the Spyderco Standard in that configuration. Great knives, both of them.

I have one I still carry occasionally its well used but still in good shape.I may have to get it out and rest my mini afck for a spell.
I lost my grey calypso jr two weeks ago been hoping it'll turn up before I get my last new one out of its box.

Well, I got it. It is a nice little knife. It is smaller in person than I was expecting. I thought it would be about the size of a Blackhawk but it turned out to be more like a Delica. I'm sure you guys already know that though. It does have a tip issue as well as the nick. For the price I can use it like a G-10 Delica and not worry too much about it.

I lost one of those as well. I kept thinking it would turn up but it never did. That is still the only nice knife I have ever lost.
