I think I may have gotten a fake Southard Flipper. Help?

I recently picked up a used Southard, but I’m suspecting it’s a fake. I just don’t know as I never collected Spyderco, and never had a Southard, only a Manix 2 and an Endura. Anyway, this Southard has a digi camo scale, not brown. Were they ever available in digi camo? Also, the clip touches the lock where the 3 ridges are. I don’t think that’s correct. I never thought these were popular enough for aftermarket scales. Will post photos when I figure out how.

Yeah that sounds fake. There seemed to be a pretty solid run of fakes pumped out a few years ago.

I would do whatever you can to return that for a refund.

Where did you buy it? Looking on the positive side, the scale and clip could be aftermarket. Some of the deep carry clips do touch the lock bar in that same area.

The southward was quite popular and I have seen many with after market scales as well as many fakes.
