I think I might be on a Becker Binge

I love my fixed blades, but on this forum, I usually spend time talking Spydies. For years the only Becker I had was the BK-2 and it's great, but for the longest time I thought I'd had my Becker needs sated. I was wrong.

Last week I ordered a BK-7. I also ordered new scales for my Bk-2 and made a trip to Home Depot to buy the necessaries to strip my Bk-2. Then, this week, I ordered my first Lil Becks, the Bk-17.

Holy hell, you guys...what have I been missing?? This knife is amazing. I saw a video where Ethan Becker said he spent 10 year developing the handle and 40 years searching for the BK-16, the sister knife of the 17, and I can absolutely feel the love that went into this piece of steel.

I love the weight. I'm used to knives this size having the weight of a Mora, but the heft is very welcomed. It's so balanced and the extra few ounces give it some authority. I can't wait to get this thing out in the woods.

I'm new to this little corner of BF, so I apologize if this post is redundant, but, man...this knife blew me away. I'll definitely be stopping by here more often in the future.
 
Welcome! And yes the BK's are addictive..... Next you need the 11 and the 9.

I started with the BK2 and thought that was all I would ever need, I then got the 11 just to have something smaller for EDC. Now I have at least one of everything.

And post up some pics when you get done modding that 2.
 
You'll love the new scales for your 2. Micarta I presume? Worth every penny!

I bought the micarta scales a while back, and put them on my Camillus BK9 (tbh, I thought I had another set; but I haven't seen them around, so I could be wrong). My KaBar 9 and 7 are still wearing the stock black scales, as is the 15. The 16 has the brown ones. I've got some Kirinite coming to redress the tweeners; and IPE for (at least) one of the bigger kids. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with the 11 or "12", handle-wise.

Don't worry - I do plan on grabbing the 5 at some point - anything after that is just gravy, and will likely be on a whim. I am somewhat prone to whims, though; but I'm going to delve into sheath making, and catch up on other projects before I buy ANYTHING else.

You also need a 5. Soon. My favorite of the bunch, with the 11 coming in a close second. At least for now.

I feel your pain, or joy rather. I've ordered three new Beckers in two weeks! It's like pokemon (sp) for adults, gotta have em all!!

Welcome. Buying 2 Beckers is not technically a binge....but not to worry. There will probably be more. You don't need any of them, as some here suggest, but in all likelihood, you will get them anyway.
 
Welcome to Beckerland, enjoy your stay and enjoy the fine blades that Mr. Becker created. This place is full of good people with plenty of info if you need it, and no one will tell you that you don't need another Becker! :D
 
Nope. Not a binge by Beckerhead standards. Welcome to the madness and enjoy your cutlery, sir. Post pics and feel free to mod them anyway you like.
