I think I want a benchmade-which one?

I have and love a Delica. I want a similar but more poppable knife, no linerlocks, for a non-work/dress knife. Similar size and light. And less than $100.

I can't really think of Benchmades that fit your description/price range. The new 670 is a very classy looking knife, should be around $100, but it's a liner lock (why don't you want a liner lock anyway?). Horn-like scales, high polish bolsters, groovy filework on the spacer.

Other than that...Benchmite 310 perhaps? A bit smaller, but classy looking. You can even get them in a lightly-done rainbow coating.

A 555/556 Mini-Griptillian is probably the closest Benchmade to your Delica, but they're not really "dressy". Although you can get them in several colors. But even then the handle shape looks utilitarian, not dressy.

My true, true, true dream Benchmade would be the Balisong. Stupid knife law. Sigh~

94x is what you're looking for, the 77x series is also a good 'dress' knife, and totally flippable. On the cheaper side, you're looking at the Mini-grips, 555 or 556. The 921 is also nice, but under 100$, it is not. 690 is a nice dress knife as well...many, many choices!

How about the Pika: a very inexpensive, ambidextrous, sturdy backlock with a neat blade finish and an unobtrusive yet extremely secure pocket clip - highly recommended. It's not very poppable though.

I second hardheart's idea. Anything in the 770 series would certainly fit within your stated parameters.

Get yourself a BM Mini-Griptilian...Choice of scales colors, and either dual thumb-studs or an opening hole, and all for under $100.

I really like the 942. It is an elegant folder but it is usable for very difficult tasks (if necessary). The construction (materials and finish) is superb. It is one of the most beautiful Benchmade I've seen. The blade is longer than the Delica one, but if you don't have legal restriction I advice you this model.

Have a nice day !
;)

If you don't mind a less contoured look than the griptilian, the 530 isn't bad. It's in the price range of the griptilian, but lighter and thinner.

My favorite Benchmade is the 940. For something dressy, I would go for the benchmite auto. I got one from One Stop Knife Shop and it is much nicer than I expected and it was less than $100.

The 77x series, I have the one with D2 and Black/Green handles is very nice and match the BDUs. Also a fellow female NCO described it as "cute", so most people will not see it as a "weapon".

trains are bad said:
which benchmades can be carried tip up?
Most of 'em are set-up for tip-up carry, with the exception of the 690, 630, 670, Pikas, 10300, and a few of the older models.

Everything AXIS is tip down. I wish they still had the CQC7. I'd go for the 710, 705, 732 for a G10 + SS liners or a 520 and 94x in spear point.
