My first time to an actual knife shop. When my girlfriend saw how all the men were acting she compared it to women at a shoe sale. It was a very nice shop and I was happy for the opportunity to handle several Spyderco and other knives. I understand that they're a brick and mortar store and have overhead but I wish their prices were a little more reasonable, I might have been able to take home a new blade. I like to support the local stores but I couldn't justify paying close to retail price.

BTW I loved the PM2's! Now I totally get what all the fuss is about. I was gonna wait for the new smaller version to come out but not sure I'm gonna be able to make it that long! :D

Sorry about the pics through the display glass!

Nice! That is a great first knife shop for sure!

This is the first I have seen of that Bowie sign out front - very cool!

There are no knife shops around here - I have to drive to St Louis to find one -

Thanks for the pictures and congrats on the visit.

Nice. At least you didn't end up single with a second mortgage.

I've ordered online from them--they're a good shop.

There is a place like that here in Las Vegas. They have an unbelievable selection of every top line .Its unreal.Just piles of awesome knives. However I went local there to see a Spyderco techno and wanted to buy it ,but it was like $300!! I ordered it from a big box store dot com for $170 .I would propably paid an extra $20 to buy it at that super cool knife store, but ya....can't do it .I don't know how they stay in business .

+1

I'm completely ignorant about B&M stores or retail...how much of a markup it takes to stay in business, etc. but who honestly is going to pay, like in 'Fingers example above, $300 for something that can be purchased online for almost half that?? Maybe someone knowledgeable will chime in. I'd be interested to learn.

Brick and mortars are great! That was the only option I had a young guy. They sure are fun to peruse!

this is vary cool, seeing all these spyderco's in one place! but i'd be forced to leave my wallet and cards at home' boy its so said to see these brick/mortar places closing there doors now, because of the web!maybe just as well!i have no self control when it comes to knifes.

Heck, that just looks like my bedroom. Doesn't everyone here store their stuff in retail cabinets? [emoji56]

Third picture down of the showcase, knife below the Rubicon and above the Valleton. Long slender blade with hump over the Spydiehole, can someone identity?

Police 3?

I think you are right, almost positive. After expanding the pic I could read the label even though it was fuzzy. Forgot about the Police models, would have to dig deep into my collection to pull out a couple of early stainless scaled ones I bought many years ago.

Nice place to visit but the only spydie I've bought from there was a discontinued micro Dyad for $100. Sold it online for $225. :) you can find some deals in their discontinued case.

Visited the website. Those prices are super steep.....holy moly.

I'm not sure but I think their online prices are actually lower than the prices in the store. I was reading a review and read something about they'll match their online price if you ask. Still too high for me. I might actually buy something if they'd match another dealer's online price.

Hmm....I didn't see there discontinued case. Might be a reason for a trip back.
