Ok, I have cleared my head a little. I looked at the webpage again. It has a picture of the plain edge knife. The listing does not mention blade type of either kind. I feel worse knowing this is mostly my own fault.

Original post has been updated with corrections. I removed what I said about the listing saying plain edge because it does not.

I found what may well have been my perfect EDC. The more I handle it, the more I like it. It was a Harley-Davidson Mini-Hardtail. It overshadows my new Griptilian. I liked the way it felt in my hand. It looks small but felt big. I loved the look of the blade. The webpage had a picture of the plain edge knife. The listing does not say which but I thought I had seen plain edge. But when I ordered I overlooked the model number. 13150S-1. Having never owned a Benchmade before I didn't know that "S" means serrated! I am used to Kershaw's "St". I had my heart set on plain edge!!! Now I find the website I ordered this one from is out of stock and so far, if I can find the plain edge version it is almost $30 dollars more than I paid. &*%/$*#>@%!!!!!!!!!!
ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

PS: Nothing against combo blades but I have filled that gap with the aforementioned Grip. I don't need another combo.

Sorry had to vent. I have been looking forward to this for a long time. Had a lousy day at work (Possible allergic reaction to something.) and was using this to get me through the day. And then disappointment.

I'd be bummed too. I have a combo CRKT M16 that I NEVER carry anymore. I just find that the serrations hang up when I'm trying to cut something, and I never cut rope and such that would make the serrations shine.

That knife would be a total winner for e if it didn't have that skull on the handle or say "Harley Davidson" on the blade:barf: I really nice looking knife though despite those two hiccups. Sorry to hear you got the combo edge version. Have you tried contacting the seller and returning it?

I really, really wanted plain edge. I just don't know what to say. This is the first time ANYTHING at all like this has happened. Even with many transactions from the Great River (Evil of Evils!) I have always been able to use the product discription with out having to worry about model number. NOTE: This is not a drop shipper. This is a real knife web store.

Edit: just saw Seelow's post. I expect to return the knife without hassle as this website has a stellar reputation. The problem is that I will have to pay almost $30 more dollars for the plain edge version from a DIFFERENT website as the plain edge is out of stock (And discontinued by BM) on the website I bought from.

If the knife description said it was a plain edge then return it and get a refund. I'd expect them to pay for the shipping or at least offer a plain edge replacement at no cost to me. It's not your job to know the model numbers or the symbols that companies use. If nothing was listed in the description and you assumed it was plain edge..thats a different story.

I bought a different Benchmade model and the advertisement didn't say plain edge but showed clear photos of a plain-edge knife, and I double checked before buying. I took it out of the package and unfortunately it had big serrations in the blade. I sent it back for a refund. While waiting on the refund I passed by a couple of other deals that might have been good because my money was tied up in this purchase.
