Hi everyone! This is my first post, been reading for awhile but just signed up and wanted to say hello. I've been checking out this forum for awhile because I've been wanting to learn more about my single pocket knife, and also to learn more about other knives I am thinking of buying.
I have one pocket knife, a Camillus Woodcraft 881 pen knife, that I bought at a tackle shop in Key West about 20 years ago (I'm 35 now). I love this thing! Here's a few pics (the main blade is shown, it looks like it's got rust on it in the photo, but its just tape pieces from opening a box earlier):

Twice this year I misplaced it for a few days and both times I thought it was gone for good. I was surprised at how distraught and upset I was about it, so I decided to retire it and buy another one. That's when I learned the Camillus that I knew was no longer in business. So I started reading about other quality American-made knives, and WR Case was a name I kept coming across so I checked them out. I like my current pocket knife because it's small but still useful for whatever I need, and Case has several models that could fit that bill (small toothpick, peanut, tiny trapper, trappernut, pen, small stockman). Since I couldn't decide which one I should get, I picked one (or in some cases, two or three) of each. I don't have any of them yet, they are on their way to me in South Korea where I currently live, but I am really looking forward to getting them in. In the meantime I still carry my Camillus, and am very careful to place it in its correct location at the end of each day.
I also ordered two Boker pen knives, as my grandfather used to carry a Boker every day. They are coming in the same package.
I decided I won't keep all of these, there are 9 knives coming altogether. Five of them will end up being gifts to my uncles-in-law and brother-in-law here in Korea before we move at the end of this year. This is in part how I rationalized to my wife why I should order 9 new knives ; ) Plus, there are a few other companies who I would like to explore, like Great Eastern Cutlery and Queen Cutlery, and it would be hard to justify buying more knives if I have 10 already!
So anyway, I just wanted to share my little story and say hi as I'm new. I'll post some pics of these knives when they arrive.
