This is my first adventure into this mystical place of Traditional Folders & Fixed Blades here on BladeForums---I'm sorry to say you guys might be hearing more from me. :D

I'm usually to be found with Benchmade, Spydercos, and other, more-upscale modern folders in my pocket, but this has been changing as of late. I have started to habitually carry a Case Large Stockman in CV, and also the large Texas Toothpick. I also have a Queen Mountain Man that I like very much...I think I've been hooked on some more traditional patterns...more likely to follow.

I am very open to any recommendations as to what to add to my collection next.

Thanks and God bless.

KATN,

Wade

Thanks for the warm welcome and recommendations! :)

I'm currently looking at a Case Sodbuster in CV---I love that steel---but would love more specifics about a good peanut.

God bless.

Welcome :)

You'll be in good company here. The patterns you are currently edc'n are good en's as well as what jackknife and other members have suggested, but perhaps you could let us know what you use your traditional knives for specifically. It will help us in helping you.

For example, do you work in an office or outdoors?. What do you do for a living?. Do you like to garden at all?. If so then what do you grow?. Do you camp, hike, fish, or hunt?. Ect, ect. .

I hope you like it here and stick around,

Anthony

Be sure to frequent your local flea market, antique shop or re-sale shop. Some of the best traditionals I have were found in places you'd never expect. It's easier on the pocketbook too!!

Enjoy...........................

Keep Care,

Pappy

I would recommend Copperhead's and Canoe's. My favorites. Then there are Trappers, ect........

Welcome to the addiction. And there is no cure. So just enjoy it like the rest of us.

Bill

Don't just be lookin at it, git it!

The Peanut is a real little knife.....got one for my wife to carry in her purse, then my daughter saw it and she had to have one, a real cute little red bone one.

Trapper, Canoe, Peanut...in that order.:)

If I had to select only one, I'd choose a medium Stockman...go figure.;)

Welcome to the Peanut Gallery. Another Case of coming full circle. It's the most satisfied I have been with my Knife Collecting in for ever!!! I love taking photos and Slipjoint knives. They are just great to take pictures of not even to mention how useful they are in hand or pocket. This is by far the easiest going bunch of Folks in here as well!!! Have fun and Digitize a few of your treasures for us!!! ~kevin~:D

Some more information about me, to help in the selection on what I'm looking for---

I'm a 17-year-old, currently at the rank of Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; working on the baselines for my Eagle Scout service project, which I have plenty of time for. I enjoy hiking, and have my hunter's license---I generally only hunt turkey, pheasant, rabbit, and whitetail deer on occassion.

In the summer, I work for my school for their summer student program---just a bit over minimum wage, but the work is easy and primarily outdoors. It's essentially landscaping the campus, which is expansive and mostly covered my open field and woods---it's a great job. I also work for my family business, Bucyrus Road Materials - Professional Asphalt Contractors, off and on, usually in the fall and in the winter when it's necessary to plow what we pave.

Thanks again for the warm welcomes, and the welcome advice. :)
