So I did a little patina work on my 14!
Here is before:

and the after pics!!

So what do you guys think?

Looks good!
What did you use? How did you do it? How long did it take?
Details man! We need details! :D

And might I add...that jimping is top notch.

so yeah I took my handles off and took a mt. dew bottle I cut the top off and put the knife inside. I filled the bottle with distilled white vinegar enough to cover the entire blade. I let it sit in the vinegar for 5 hours! I was worried it may have been too long but I love it!! After I pulled it out I washed it with soap and water and sprayed it with rem oil and put it in my lansky kit and took the fine stone to it just enough to get the patina off of the edge.

How did you do the jimping? As well I'd like a better shot of that break-away connection on the lanyard. Looks great.

I like this quite a bit; that's a very dark, even patina.

I've been lettin the coating on my izula II wear off naturally over time. It's gotten pretty bare at this point so i'm thinkin of strippin the last bits on the blade and then the handle and putting a nice, dark patina on it as well. I hope it comes out as even and good lookin as yours did

EDIT: yea, i'd like to agree with everyone else and say that jimping looks very well executed. Nicely done!

I used calipers to measure and scribe lines where I wanted each grove to be I then used a triangle shaped file to put them in its not perfect but I like it. And I will post a pic of the lanyard when I get home later today but I used a buckle that people use on para cord bracelets I wear my knife rather high so I wanted an easier way to take it on and off

Looks good man. The first thing I do with a new knife is strip it. Except for my latest Machax, no idea why I decided to just wear that one off.

Looks great! In fact it looks just like my 14 except for the jimping (I like how you did that, may do that to mine one day). I used plain white vinegar and wrapped mine in a soaked paper towel for about an hour or so.
