Hi all i just realized that i need a new knife cause my kershaw is now retiring. :sorrow:.So now it is time now for a new knife i was woundering what brand should i go with and any help would be great!!

A budget would be helpful as well as what will the knife be used for. There's a wide range to choose from.

Price:$0.00 to $125.00 Size:7 1/2in or bigger and locking i have no clue  and don't care where it is made as long as it dose its job.

I'm assuming you mean 7 1/2" over all length and not the blade correct.

If you're retiring a Kershaw I would think the logical step would be a ZT. May have to go a little beyond your budget but my experience with ZT shows they are great knives for the money.

ZT 350 is 7 3/4" overall with a 3 1/4" blade, very solid. If you shop around a little you'll get one for $125 or less.

What Kershaw are you "retiring" and why? Is there anything you wish that it was,had or did but doesn't/isn't?

A few off the top of my head that make me happy are the Kershaw Skyline, Kershaw Blur s30v and ZT566. All are made in the USA and are within your price range.

I have a kershaw freefall its two year old and it is wore out i can still use it but it cant cut nothing and i used it for everything thats why im getting a new knife.

I'd recommend it as well... if you want to go cheaper and a bit bigger, you can stick to Kershaw since it worked for you and check out the Kershaw Piston (~$50ish)

Well there you go, now is a great opportunity to get a sharpening system and practice with the worn out Kershaw. Why carry a knife if you can't sharpen it?
Go visit Kershaw's site and look at the knives they offer, you'll be surprised with their selection. Plus, they are vary affordable and the price ranges vary.

Far be it for me to stop anyone from buying anything, but you say your current knife cannot cut anything? And that's the reason you're getting a new knife. Have you not sharpened it at all? I don't see why you couldn't get it sharpened so that it will cut what you're used to cutting. Unless you've sharpened it to where it's only a toothpick at this point.

I could sharpen it but it would be my work knife and i would buy another knife for self defense.I bought sharping stones but need help of how to do it.

I checked the Freefall - cool looking knife, don't recall that one and I cant tell you how many Kershaws I own. I see a lot of forum peeps recommending the 0350, though it might be more then you want to pay according to your requirements, unless you find a deal.
