You know the sad thing !

Until 5 years ago, I owned all those guns, now thanks to my government, I don't have any of them.

But now I collect the knives instead and none are registered.

Try banning these !

Crime is on the rise daily, only yesterday I spent all day at two murder scenes, all within 30mins walk from my own house.

Remember here in the UK that most guns are banned, yet in the past 5 years I have been a Police Officer in this area, we have had 7 fatal shootings, I've lost count of the others.

As a Police Officer on the street, I am also a member of our areas Support Unit (similar to one of your SWAT teams) where I am the units medic. We have done many raids as you can imagine, yet we are also totally unarmed. Only when there is a known threat, do we get Armed Officers with us.

Anyone like to swap with me ?
 
That's a crime, DD... Hopefully, it won't take lots of officers getting killed for your higher-ups to realize that "if the BAD guys have guns... maybe the GOOD guys should, too..." Of course, you could always call the SAS for close support...

I don't understand how a Special Response Team (like our ESU - SWAT isn't "PC" anymore - and your Support Teams) can go into a room breach situation unarmed. Does your Parliment think "Cops in a Barrel" is OK, or something?

Well we have had Police Officers shot and killed whilst on duty.

So far this year, I have been to the funerals of two officers I knew personally who have been killed on duty and yes, I don't think the government cares how many of us die. As long as none of them has to arm the Police and then take ultimate responsibility should an Officer ever have to shoot a BG in a situation.

Me, I carry 3 Emersons at work and off duty and if I had to, I'd have no hesitation to use them, and have twice now.
 
I'M A POLICE OFFICER IN THE THE HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT AND I CAN'T SEE NOT CARRYING ANY WEAPONS ONDUTY. I USUALLY CARRY (2)GUNS- ISSUED S&W 5906 AND A GLOCK 26, (4) KNIVES D2 SIFU, EMERSON COMMANDER, (2) CQC7s AND ALMOST 100 RDS OF HYDRA-SHOCKS/ BLACK TALONS ( I USE 17 RD MAGAZINES MADE IN ITALY).

CRIME IS ON THE RISE. MAYBE YOU SAW IT ON CNN BUT, AFTER A CAR CHASE SOME DRUGGIE SHOT AT (2) SOLO-BIKE OFFICERS HERE. ONE GUY TOOK SOME OOBUCK IN THE FACE THE OTHER OFFICER LOST THE LOWER PORTION OF HIS LEFT HAND. SUSPECT WAS SHOT DEAD... I ALSO HAVE A BENELLI M1 SUPER 90 TACTICAL SHOTGUN IN MY CAR IF NEEDED. THIS IS JUST THE AUTHORIZE STUFF. IF I HAD MY WAY I USE MY HK USP 45 AND MY AK-47.

UNLESS YOU'RE A POLICE OFFICER TOO YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW HOW I FEEL BUT,THE SUSPECT(S) WILL GO DOWN, SO I CAN GO HOME TO MY WIFE AND KIDS.

NO GUNS ONDUTY...GET REAL!!!

Damn, if I were in DD shoes, I would pack guns regardless of policy. Better to be fired for this than to lose your life for not being prepared for the worst case senario.
