I think this is a good value for money

I don't know, I think it's a good value, I have a shrade with the gut hook that I got as a present and it works pretty good, that gut hook is like a zipper!! And you don't only have to use it to spill the guts, it will also just unzip the skin.

If you ask me, the Microtech UMS and Mini Socom are going at unbelievable prices right now. I hope it lasts long enough for me to get every variation

I saw a Buck 110 for $20 recently at Academy - that's a great deal!

The Kershaw Vapor is also a great deal. If it wears out, swing by Wal Mart and get a new one.

The Ka-Bar Dozier is a great buy too. For $20, it offers a heck of a lot of knife.

I have an aversion to Kershaw knives because of my completely unsatisfactory experience with the Amphibian, which corroded unexpectedly and then could not be adequately cleaned because of the way the rubber insert goes through the skeletonized handle...

Anyway... I handled one of those assisted opening knives at a shop and did not like the feeling of that at all. To me it seems superfluous anyway. If you put enough effort to charge the spring to open the knife the rest of the way, you might as well open the knife fully on your own power *anyway*. I felt the grip on the knife compromised by pushing hard enough to open the knife.

Now, the VAPOR looks like a cool knife -- I don't own a frame-lock yet and would like to. BUT: I can't stand those stupid holes drilled into the handle scales! They look like they'd do nothing but accumulate CRAP in your pocket! Too bad they don't make the same knife with just plain handles, or maybe textured for grip, but not with HOLES.

I have a Vapor II for <$25 and I think it is a great value. Same with the Ka bar/Dozier Hunter at <$20. They each have their nuances and tradeoffs, but represent the profound increase in quality by manufacturers. $100/inch folders? OK, and give me a bridge to go.

I have a Vapor, and also have Mayos. I have not found that junk accumulates in the holes. And this is with frequent carry.

Just got the Dozier skinner from A.G. Russell. A great value for $20 but I would have to say based on its construction and materials that is a light duty only knife--not in the same class as Bucks 110 and 112 if you are looking for a hard use blade.

Buck 110 new at 20$??? wow, that's a great deal .. how to get one?

I saw them at a store called Academy. They had them on sale for $19.95. But...last time I went there, they were $29.95. Sorry!
