So today I was looking at the small selection of knives I brought with me to school. Since the fall I've gotten: spyderco szabo, pm2, 0560(black blade), zt 0801 (anodized by maprik), brous triple threat, kershaw Damascus skyline, custom kydex sheath for my spyderco warrior. It's never going to end!

I was also just looking at my "to buy list" of knives and I hate that I have to wait to get them because I just wish I could have an play with them now :) I plan on getting of course the 0801CF, 0770CF, the ZT/Emerson collab 0562CF. It doesn't stop there though because gotta get some spyderco's too! I love flippers so I obviously need the southard and may as well try for the domino as well.

But I also need to prioritize and store my knives better as my safe is become way too cluttered and only holds about 40% of my stuff, so I want a pelican 1600.

If there is absolutely one knife I plan on getting though, it's a Sebenza. I've been collecting for too long to not have one yet. I think if I have to limit my summer purchases to three it'd be the Sebenza, 0801CF(if they ever come out), and and southard or the 0562CF. What do you guys think?

Do you guys ever get overwhelmed by all the great knives and products out there/ worried you'll miss out on them and they'll become discontinued quickly? Sorry for that super long post, just a little overwhelmed I guess, maybe it's the stress of finals week!

Get a GF or wife and maybe some kids and you be complaining you don't have the money for these knife purchases they are a sure bet to slow you down.

Yea, stay single. Then you can ride motorcycles, buy all the knives you want, leave the seat up and date a variety of women until you find the right one.

Make sure you get the motorcycle and knives before you settle down and can't afford to buy later ones as fast as you'd like.

Lol,yes but marry the right gal or she gets half your stuff!:);)

My knife acquisitions in the past 2 years:

Spyderco Persistence, about $30
Spyderco Sharpmaker, about $60
ESEE 3, around $100 if I remember correctly
Spyderco Manix 2 G-10, gifted to me

If I actually bought the Manix 2, I'd still be under $300 in 2 years.

This board serves to help me *save* money. I get to come here to browse and learn. On occasion, I'll go to Sportsman's or Northwoods and handle a bunch of stuff in person. The above helps me by keeping me from making bad buys, helps me identify preferences (example: I dislike back locks and the PM2 compression lock for purely manipulation specific reasons) that narrow my prospect list down, and provides perspective. One example of perspective is size. As an example, I've recently been checking out the Benchmade 707 Sequel, and was considering a trip to check one out. Theeeeeen, I saw a video where someone put a 707 on a table next to a Manix 2, and I saw how small the 707 really is. That scratched that off the list. Another example of perspective, and probably the most crucial: I've come to appreciate that a new knife isn't going to give me a significant performance boost in the applications I commonly use blades for. Cardboard processing, zip tie cutting, plastic packaging cuts... This stuff doesn't demand an XM-18. Getting a custom isn't going to change my life. I guess you could say the internet shows me what I don't need to buy.

The internet also woke me up to sharpening, which is a big thing. The Sharpmaker gives me performance and savings by keeping my EDC running strong. That was a great investment.

Haha I have a gf and when we were first starting to talk and get to that level I was like "so I've got something to tell you, I really like knives" at first she was kind of surprised because I'm such a quiet, patient, and calm kid. She didn't really know what to think but we've been dating for about a year and now when we are just hanging out she likes to look at and play with my knives and she really likes my zt 0801 so shes got pretty good taste!

I remember being in college with limited funds and seeing a Gerber Bolt Action folder in a knife catalog. Man I wanted that knife so bad , but $29 was a lot of scratch for a knife:)
It took me awhile to finally buy one... thankfully for my sanity, there was no Internet and the knife catalogs only came out a few times a year.

GF's won't slow down the buying too much, but when I got married and bought my first house the knife buying stopped for more years than I'd like to remember.

Oh and the GF that thinks its fun to play with knives.. if she becomes your wife that will change. ;)

That ring on her finger is like a noose around your neck. Cant live with them, cant live without them, three rings of marriage engagement ring, the wedding ring and the sufferring......

My name is double7 and I'm a blade addict.

From what I heard you say, there was only one word that I truly understand..."Sebenza."
