But this says TWO inches.

653k. Every person who possesses in the passenger's or driver's
area of any motor vehicle in any public place or place open to the
public, carries upon his or her person, and every person who sells,
offers for sale, exposes for sale, loans, transfers, or gives to any
other person a switchblade knife having a blade two or more inches in
length is guilty of a misdemeanor.

I once had a kid pull a California legal 1.95" switchblade on me. This would be laughable under any circumstance, but it was really a hoot since I was carrying an improvised gravity knife with a 9" blade at the time. This was made from grinding a knife edge onto the blade of a folding pruning saw. When I flipped it open in cheerfull response to his challenge the overall length of my knife was 19". "Now this hears a knife"? We parted ways with a clear understanding that he wasn't to come an bother me anymore. Needless to say, mine was a tad illegal. This of course happened a long time ago, and the statute of limitations has run out.
