I thought I'd give it a go....

After picking up a beater hammer ($4.00 at sidewalk sale...
I think it may be a Plumb...epoxy/ "M" designation), I wanted
to give my first attempt at making the impact surface shine .
Wasn't too bad of a process... grind out divots, sand paper ...
coarse, medium, fine, then buff. Not perfect, but, a good practice
round.

...at least now I have some experience with the technique.

Nothing wrong with that. I don't have the time/patience for a true mirror polish. I use files (much easier than axe bits), and a 3M wheel.

Beachlogger.... I thought the same... I will leave as is.... seems to have multiples
of thick paint layers.

JBlyttle... did not even think about using a file.... might have made it easier. I really
need to improve / increase my file pile... always on the lookout for gently used Pferd's,
Bahco, Groberts, Nicholson USA , etc. ...but, slim pickings .
