I finally got my grails for the year. A three blade Case sowbelly stockman and a Spyderco Manix XL. However, I made the mistake of looking at a 561 at my "local" knife shop.

Except for the Schatt and Morgan Heritage 2012 premium stockman and the new Starmate from Spyderco, I thought I was done for awhile.

Now I'm looking at what I can unload for a 561! Not that the 560 was a bad knife, it wasn't for me. DAMN! The 561 was.

I think it's time to check out that Uddeholm steel!

The 0560 and the 0561 are the same knife with different colored scales... Did you mean the 0550?

Back to the original thought- if you are as enthusiastic about knives as I think most of us are, it will never be over. There will always be more knives that you will find to want, and you will occasionally find that some of your older ones can be let go of. In the words of DeNiro as Al Capone- "A man's got to have enthusiasms". Our enthusiasm is knives, and when we have reached the end then our enthusiasm is gone and what are we going to think about?

I have giant paws, the 560 felt great, really contoured to my hand. The 550 did not, and felt bulky to me. That's just my opinion.

I feel the same, the 0560 series fits large hands better. I still kept my 0550, I still carry it when the larger knife isn't allowed. I mainly have my 0560 with me at all times. But as bdmicarta stated, its never over!

While the 550 is smaller size wise, the handle width is wider than the contoured handle of the 560/561.

I can really tell a difference between the two in my pocket. The 0551 takes up a lot more space and to me feels much "chunkier" then the 0560 wich rides like a much much smaller knife. Even though I love them both (love all my ZT's for that matter) the 560 IMO is much more comfortable to carry.

Agree with these 100%. Seems like the 0560 is the perfect size for my hands. Very comfy, I have never had a knife fill the hands quite as well.
