I thought Leatherman was coming out with an updated SURGE!

I wonder what is going on at leatherman, all the reports said July or August for the updated Surge, anyone know what is going on?

Check Leatherman on youtube, they have several vids about the updated Surge, two of the big changes are the pliers, they will be like the pliers on the ST300, and the t-shank will now be abel to take your basic t-shanks in stead of just leathermans.
 
I spoke with customer service today. The SKU on the new Surge (if you want the leather sheath) is 831751. They are just now shipping to distributors so nobody in retail has them yet. Probably be a couple of weeks before they start hitting the shelves.

Thanks for that info, hope they update their site with the new tool (still has the old one on their site), I want to look at all the changes in detail but am thinking of getting one.
 
I read they would have replacable wire cutter blades like the ST300.
 
I visited the leatherman store today and was told it's a rolling change and they will start hitting distribution channels between now and late fall.

I remember now the little eye glass bit holder went away. I like the fact that the flat head screw drivers are hollow ground like the ones on the 300.
 
I sent an e-mail to Leatherman yesterday and they replied today, the e-mail ask when there site would be updated with the new Surge. The reply was around the end of this month, when the new Surge starts shipping. So I guess they have not started shipping.
