I Thought This Was Gonna be a Cakewalk......Then Everybody Started Bidding.

yupsire
life gets tougher all the time...
kids and blue hairs driveing prices up fer us normal people

Don't be too hard on the sniper.....he was me.

:D

I just didn't expect to have to pay that much!

I figured this one had slipped under the radar of most people.....even with fairly decent pics.....and also, the seller made the mistake of saying that the blade was 2 and a half inches long.

A statement like that will cause many buyers to just hurry on to the next auction without looking further.

But, I was wrong......the rest of you guys are getting too sharp and I suppose I'll soon have to retire from buying and just watch and polish brass.

:D

Is that considered alot for a 112, it seems as if prices on knives are in a resession, just like everything else. But, there are the ones that go for three times what they should. Is $55 too much for a decent 112???

This one appeared to be a Three-Dot FG and they are very hard to find.

Even so......I was hoping to get it for about $30 or $35 because it was not well-described or pictured.

Oh well.....

It's all fun anyhow.

:)

wow BG. I finally got to look on the full size screen and that sure does appear to be a . ..
I usually go right by the FG models because I prefer the feel of the squared off frame...
hope you show pics on this one

Oh yes.....there will be pics.

This one might be rough enough to merit a Buck Spa treatment, so maybe there will even be "Before and After" pics at some point.

:)

Why are 3 dot hard to find. I have a few, I might get rid of them if I can make some $$. I'm not really a 110/112 guy I like fixed blade and 300s. I have several 110sand 112 but I have no attachment to them. They do look nice in a display though.

Three-Dotters, in general, are desirable and somewhat uncommon because they only made those blades in part of 1980 (allow for a little slopover into '81).

But the 112 FG Three-Dotter is considerably more rare than the average Three-Dot, so one must pursue them ruthlessly and seek them out on the land and in the sea, in forest and stream, city and country, fair weather and foul......and on e-Bay.

:D

:D

Indeed......that's the problem.

Then again, once you gather a few of them up.......why not?

:)

Nice buy! For some reason the blade seemed to be more of a modified clip point..And the FG's seemed to be a bit more shallow than others from that era.A employees lunch box maybe?????A spa treatment is called for!

I don't know.....but it should arrive today or in the next couple of days at the latest.

Then we'll take a look and get some good pictures so we can figure it all out.

And yes, I'm thinking spa.

:)

Ok.......it arrived today. All seems good. In fact, I may just clean it up myself and forget the spa treatment.

What do you think, Bucksway?? Factory original with a little normal wear and tear?

I like it.

:)

NICE!!! You always seem to come out of these gambles pretty good; must have a horseshoe tucked away somewhere;)

Nice looking knife in very good shape. I have a couple of them in about the same condition. I would take a picture but I would have to clean out a closet to find them.
