And i found some interesting things outback. The point of this thread is to show off the kit knife i made today (my first ever!) and some of the pictures that i took of flowers and various Springtime plants. :D

Prety violets indeed. But more importantly i found that the rasberries were up and running! Soon to be yummy in my tummy. :D

That looks really great! Good work on the handle. How hard did you feel the build was? I've never tried but would like to this summer.

What type of steel is the blade?
 
If you did the filework you did a super job. I also like the handle. :thumbup:
 
I have been going to get a couple of the green river kits, this one and the short butcher knife.

If memory serves me, the steel is 1095, but I could just be feeble minded.:D
 
Neato. Love how you burned the handle! Good job on the pins too!

This stuff isn't hard guys. Make yourself a knife. There is nothing like cutting something with your very own sharpie.
 
Pretty little flowers. Nice work on the knife, there's nothing like a custom fit handle. How is your blade holding up? I think I will order a couple of blanks and add some micarta handles. The price sure is right.
