I like nice toys but I also like things that are durable. Lately I've been carrying two knives; not for select projects, but a crappy knife to protect the 'good' knife. I just want one good one.

I had a Buck mini-Strider, a tanto point, but I was getting out of the tanto phase of my life. I even considered the drop point Buck Strider, but that AR just called out to me.

After checking finances, and reading a thread from Mikemck, I called Josh at TAD last night. I have a TAD ARC Led flashlight; they were polite on the phone, and the delivery was quick.

I'm now on the waiting list. With the Strider warranty I'm just going to carry ONE knife and not worry about banging it up. This is the situation I've been looking for!

You're going to love the AR. It is an AWESOME blade. I got the last one from Blade Art a couple weeks ago and have been carrying it with me every day, every where. Even though it is big, it is not uncomfortable to carry. In fact, the added size and weight is kind of reassuring; you know it's always there. The thing opens with a flick of my wrist and closes with a very solid "clunk." It's as stout as they come.

Excellent choice!
I am finding that the AR is usable for even the smallest chores, like stripping wire or detail cutting, and of course it can handle the big jobs as well.

Really, it's a great EDC, in spite of it's size, which is a real testament to the genious of the Strider guys in making such a versatile folder.

I was hesitant to carry the AR all the time because of it's size. My work brings me into allot of schools and peoples homes. Finally I just asked my wife how it looked in my pocket. She said it wasn't very noticeable and she's a bit of a worrier. It's now my edc and I barely notice that it's with me. This is by far my favorite folder and I have a few. Good luck with yours. ec

For me, the size is not the issue. I live in a small town, and my boss let's me carry what I like. In fact, he looks at my new toys and reads the knife magazines on my desk.

I just want ONE tough knife. I don't want to linger over the knife cabinet and wonder what to carry for that day. I want a UPS box opener, I want a truck knife, I want a food knife, and I want a knife to sweat all over when I go mountain biking. (BTW, I am not your average mountain biker. I'm 250, it's more like 'bush bulldozing.')

I've always lusted for a Strider. In fact, I'm now contacting my friends to see if they want my drawer queens. I like the warranty guarrantee. The same 'no BS' promise is also the reason that I am a Dillon Precision reloading press customer. I take good care of my stuff and I doubt I'll destroy a Strider. But it's sure a relief to know that I don't have to worry.

Don't get me wrong. I carry a Microtech for an EDC and it has served me well. However, at day's end I check for dings.

I sure wish Josh would call!
