Buying a Small Sebenza, that is. I just picked a new one up on the Exchange Forum and hopefully, it's on its way! Funniest thing about it is that I worry about spending 1/3 of this on knives, yet have no misgivings at all. And it's not even here! Something tells me this could prove to be somewhat more costly than my Spydie collection;) .

Congrats.

If you don't like it, you can always sell it. But I have a feeling you will like it.

Just keep in mind that the Sebenza is just a knife. When you open it for the first time, a chorus of angels will not sound, and a light will not shine down on you from heaven.

But it is a very good knife. The more you use it, the more you will like it. The design is very practical, functional, and utilitarian. If you live with a Sebenza, you will love it.

Don't give on up your Spydies.... I have a sebbie AND a Spydiebenza, otherwise known as the Volpe, and I really like them both!
AND I have a place for them both!

You might hear Chuck Norris offer you a compliment on making such a wise choice, though, which is just as good! ;)

No chance of giving up on my Spydies! I just figure acquiring CRKs is going to cost quite a bit more! I've been thinking about a Sebenza for a couple of years, but pretty much had it in my head they couldn't really be that much better than Spyderco in terms of performance. Then it hit me; just get one, because sometimes there's just more to it. I can drop 3bills without blinking an eye on totally disposable kit like climbing protection and have easily spent more than 10 grand on kayaks and gear to go with it. In my other pursuits I have kit that is considered THE BEST and is the ruler by which other gear is measured. I would consider the Sebenza the ruler in the category of folding knives. If nothing else, I'll be able to talk from experience from now on, not just research.

A bit off subject but my kayak is known in paddlesports to be of questionnable fit and finish in comparison to some of the newer companies, but it's still the boat by which others are compared. It has this rep totally based on how it performs in challenging connditions. Funny how different pursuits are more forgiving of QC as long as the product delivers. I bought my boat knowing I would find some things wrong in terms of finnish and had to fix it almost immediately. It was almost like the price of admission. Couldn't really see that happening in the knife world.

Ya, but Chuck Norris doesn't use a Sebenza...A Sebenza uses Chuck Norris!
:D

Congrats on the new Sebbie!! I am sure that you will love it. If not, you can always sell or trade it. But, I don't think that you will sell or trade it!!

Relax, and just use it, you'll love it. My first one,a small reg, was so new I just put it away. Eventually I sold it (at a profit!) as it was a safe queen.
I now have a knocked about large reg, in BG42, USE it and LOVE it.
As Hair, says, you can always sell it, but I bet you don't. Phil. :-)

This is only semi-correct ;) When I open my first small woodie Sebenza I immediately get possessed and a voice inside my head say, "MORE!!!!!"

BTW, only Chuck Norris can flick open and then spine-whack a Sebbie

It arrived today, and Man, am I pleased. Thanks 82ndAirborn for the sweet knife. I'm surprised at the size of it as I was expecting it to be the size of my Delica4. I'm happy it's a bit smaller, but with more blade. They are certainly business-like, eh? I'm very pleased(did I say that already;) ?)
