So with the world being crazy guns have gotten a bit hard to get

I have a good hook up on Glocks and recently picked up a few

2 gen 5 model 45 in 9 mm and a 43x for you wife

the 45’s

43x

My dear friend David Mirabile in Alaska was wanting a Glock 45 and having trouble finding one and me being the generous type mailed him one :)

So here is the fun part

why would I want money from him when knives from him are so hard to come from :)

so i snapped a picture of a well worn edc Wharnie from another friends John Gray and asked him to have a go at something similar....shown with my edc a Custom ZEV 19

I have found a little 3 inch bladed wharnie is the perfect edc for me carried horizontal in front of my left hip

I asked him to do it in my favorite Damascus Cable

So it begins

I anticipate some old animal parts, some carbon fiber cord and some serious badassery

My friend I’ve asked David to leave parts of his wonderful artifacts off most my knives and plus that stuff makes um heavy

I will say the horizontal Kydex sheath will be wrapped in Cape buffalo leather :)

Your the perfect person to have this conversation with being your design and hard use back ground

I’ve found the simple wharncliffe design with a 3 inch blade so utilitarian a tool

it’s basically a big utility knife that doubles as a very nasty defensive piece

it’s amazing how a lifetime of knife use and fancy leads you to different opinions and thoughts on blades

the John Gray has been a very used piece

It’s made of Nitro V

I like it performance and it sharpens well

David’s cable is a favorite of mine

my first exposer to cable was many many moons ago when no other than the great Michael Bell made me Walkizashi in cable and would rave to me about the performance he was getting

Years later he made me a very special Katana set in Tachi mounts

Bagwell made a few Cable pieces for me as well he calls his variant Satans lace

so,e guys like the many different Damascus patterns like W’s etc

I like Cable

I like it’s random watered appearance

I’m also a fan of its cutting characteristics

I love that crown stag Bagwell, ever since you posted it up many years ago. Never seen cable done quite like that, and it looks like alchemy to me

I agree that it's hard to beat a straight edge like a wharncliffe for inflicting damage in the type of situation they're designed for. I expect you'd know exactly where the tip is and if it makes contact it will definitely leave a scratch- or worse! There's good reasons for seaxes- even wild swings can have the type of result you might be looking for in those instances, and a straight edge is predictable for life on the velde

Fortunately, my uses for blades have much less to do with protecting life and limb than severing branch and stem, but like most knife knerds I'm fascinated by them as weapons too. I've just finished designing a defensive oriented utility knife that's recently gone into production, I think you would like it. PM me your shipping address, bud!

Knife for gun trade is on my list of things I haven't pulled off yet. Good looking start. I like how he flipped the cable to get the dots instead of the usual streaks.

Too cool! I had to log on to a computer to see the pics, they weren't showing up on my phone and I couldn't comment. Odd

I’m having the same issue, except I can reply with a quote. Also if I quote a post with pictures, the pictures show up in the quote.

Love the thread and have always been a fan of cable. That Bagwell must have been made with some large strand !

It’s a special Bagwell for sure

Bill and his wife Sidra took it to the Alamo and christened it the Alamo Bowie

I have a pretty stellar Bowie Collection and this is the one they all tip their hat too

It’s big ....11 inch blade

Do to the radical distal taper it floats like a butterfly and stings like a BULL
