Sticky tape boxes . With regular sponge for dishes can't clean off the gook. What would you recommend I use without scratching or dulling the edge please.

Lighter fluid,flitz,WD40,goo gone or rubbing alcohol just to name a few.

Any solvent (like zipo lighter fule) will remove that gunk left over from tape, you can even use an oily cloth. :)

Most people have rubbing alcohol or fingernail polish remover (acetone) in their house. That should work, especially the acetone. Just don't get the acetone on anything that you want to preserve the finish - painted surface, finished wood surface, etc.

Here's a method that works and is absolutely free because EVERYONE has some available. Use the skin oil secreted from the sides of your nose. Just rub your fingers along the sides of your nose, then rub the oil on the tape residue left on your blade (of course ..... make absolutely sure you are rubbing away from the edge ... no need to add blood to the messy tape residue!!). Works like a charm and very quickly.

What others have said to remove the glue.

You may want to think about using a box cutter. They excel at opening boxes.

I clean mine with rubbing alcohol. Keeps the blade clean and at least for me does not remove all the lube.

Goo Gone. Its main purpose in life is to remove adhesive...I don't like alcohol because it takes too much rubbing--I bought Goo Gone specifically for removing the sticky gunk left over from labels, price stickers, tape, etc.

Just let it soak in for 15 seconds or so and then wipe off.

Ken44 , life is short . Can't take one Sebenza with you when you go. Have fun, in life, otherwise you can drive a scooter and eat McDonalds all your life along with using BoxCutter.

Most gun solvents work great if you've got some laying around. Even a wipe with some clp does the trick most of the time.
